Jeep Finance Loans: New or Used?

Whether purchasing a new or used vehicle, the majority of consumers must acquire Jeep financing in order to afford the vehicle. In order to obtain financing, there are usually certain requirements you must meet: a $1500 minimum monthly income, you must be 18 or older, and employed at least 6 months. You must also live at least 6 months at current residence. Interest rates are important parts of a Jeep auto loan. They vary based on a variety of factors. Some of the major factors considered are credit score, monthly income, length of employment, and location. The amount of the loan and type of car (new or used) may also come into play.
When it comes to purchasing a vehicle, buying a preowned car can save a lot of money.

Used cars often carry certain myths, such as they will not have good safety equiptment or be unreliable.  The truth is if the used car is from the last few years, it will have modern safety and technology features and have many more miles left in it.  So while used cars may have a lower sticker price, when it comes to suv financing, a general rule is new-car loan rates are better than used-car rates. Usually, only new cars qualify for zero percent financing, though some automakers occasionally push certified pre-owned stock with zero percent offers. The older the car is, the higher the interest rate will be. For your next jeep wrangler financing, you must weight the scale between better finance rate and lower sticker price.

Another important aspect of purchasing a Jeep with a good auto loan is to avoid the "low monthly payment" trap. If a monthly payment is too low, you may end up in the long run paying more than the car is actually worth. Interest is a key word in auto financing. By comparison shopping among lenders, researching current rebate and financing offers, and understanding how dealers can manipulate rates.  But the interest rate you get depends on more than just what bank or lending institution from which you're borrowing.

2010 Jeep Lineup

If you decide to opt for a better interest rate and go for a used car, the 2010 Jeep model year is full of new and improved vehicles.  Jeeps such as Wrangler and Grand Cherokee continue to carry on the traditional Jeep style, off road abilities that Jeep has gained its reputation for. At the same time, the 2010 vehicles are modern and technologically advanced SUVs.  When it comes to hardcore trailblazing, the Wrangler is rarely matched. For 2010, Jeep has renamed the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited's base model "Sport." Now standard in the Sport are fog lamps, tow hooks, a compass and an outdoor temperature gauge. It also comes equipped with a soft-top that Jeep says is easier to remove, plus an indicator that shows when you're driving economically.

The Grand Cherokee was the first 2010 Jeep to be introduced. Laredo and Limited models now have two available powertrains, and both engines pair with a five-speed automatic transmission. The Hemi V-8 applies variable-valve timing and cylinder deactivation for better fuel economy. For this model year, the Grand Cherokee is now available in Laredo, Limited and SRT8 trims only. The Overland trim has been discontinued.

For 2010, the Liberty gets a system that shuts off the engine when decelerating to improve its gas mileage, as well as an indicator on the dash to show when the Liberty is being driven efficiently. One of the more interesting features in the five-seat Jeep Liberty small SUV is its optional Sky Slider movable canvas roof. When properly equipped, the Liberty can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Available 4WD capability has been the Jeep vehicle trademark for over six decades, but the 2010 Liberty also comes in a two-wheel drive (2WD) configuration, offering another side of Jeep brand performance.

In 2007 the automaker launched a new breed of Jeeps.  The Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot were not designed to be off road beasts like the Wrangler, but rather as modern day smooth handling crossovers. The Compass and the Patriot are both car based front wheel drive vehicles. The Compass and Patriot are Jeep's first models with four-wheel-independent suspensions. The 2010 Patriot gets Jeep's Trail-Rated designation, meaning it's capable of meeting certain off-road standards for traction, water fording, ground clearance and more. There are no significant changes for the 2010 Patriot and Compass.

And then there is the Commander. The Jeep Commander is the first Jeep to have three rows of seats; it seats up to seven people. Three full-time four-wheel-drive systems and two transfer cases are available. In ascending order of ruggedness, Jeep calls its four-wheel-drive systems Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II. The Commander was thought to be ready to be axed by the automaker, yet the Commander has returned in full force for the new model year. For 2010, the Commander dropped its 4.7-liter V-8 engine and the Overland trim.
